Imagine a Horseback Riding Adventure tour mounted on beautiful Paso Fino horses in and around 2,200 acres of Puerto Rico's countryside. We provide gentle, but spirited, healthy horseback rides that can accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders. Once guests have checked in, they are taken to the barn area where they are given a basic lesson in horseback riding and orientation on the trail's riding rules. The Caveland Adventure Tour takes visitors to the lush green mountains of Morovis with ancient caves which were declared a Natural Reserve in 2012. In this area exist around 60 caves but we will be Exploring #4. Here lived our ancestors the Tainos and the Arcaicos. All around and within these cave systems can be seen Petroglyphs (ancient Taino writings) as well as fossils discovered by Archaeologists, including, a prehistoric manatee and a cranium of an extinct Sloth. You will see Taino ceremonial grounds and meet Alis Cheverez, a direct descendant of our ancestors, the Tainos, who inherited the technique of Taino pottery making from her mother. Important Notice: Since September 2017, due to Hurricane Maria, tours in El Yunque Rainforest have been limited to select companies, and Puerto Rico Tour Desk is one of the few that are allowed to visit. The tour will be restricted to certain areas as recovery work continues. [tourbookbutton] However, the beating from Hurricane Maria should not stop you from visiting the rainforest as this is your opportunity to experience the amazing rainforest environment after a natural disaster. You will have the opportunity to see the center and west part of El Yunque in just half a day. This tour also includes typical Puerto Rican food and the distinguishing Puerto Rican musical culture. Our first stop will be in one of the most picturesque waterfalls in the rainforest (La Coca). After we will visit a natural pool area where you’ll have the chance to swim and feel rejuvenated in the clear and crystal waters. Later we will visit a north coast where we will have a beautiful view of the beach and where the river connects with the ocean. We will also visit the Maria de la Cruz cave where you’ll learn about our native history of the Tainos and get to know our African heritage through our typical Puerto Rican dance (La Bomba). After a 45 minute drive from metro San Juan, we arrive at El Yunque National Rainforest, where our Rainforest Tour guide will stop at El Portal Visitor Center. Guests will enjoy a short movie and time for shopping at the souvenir store. Then we will take you to La Cola Waterfall, stop at Yokahu Tower and depend on the schedule, we will take you to Caimitillo Trail (about 1 1/2 hour walk). Join us in a City of Ponce Tour on a drive through the south to visit the second major city of the island. We start off by visiting Tibes the Indian Ceremonial Center. By noon we’ll drive through the Seralles Castle (of Don Q Rum fame) for an overview of the city. We will then proceed to the city center where you will have a chance to grab some lunch and visit any historical sites on your own.
